The fluorescent lamp is an elongated tube in which electrical current is passed through a shaft. The gas discharge lamp emits a luminous radiation. The color of the light is determined by the fluorescent layer.

T8 tubes are the most common fluorescent lamps. They are used in offices, shops, schools or industrial sites.
