What’s going to change for the Philips halogen lamps in 2016?

Writtern by QuickOnline

Since September 1, 2016 there are no more main-voltage ( “reflector lamps”) produced or imported in the EU. The only thing that can still be sold are old stocks.

This will apply to the following halogen lamps:
Halogen classic with E14 / E27 base in the form R39 / R50 / R63 / R80
All halogen lamps with GU10 socketPAR16 / 20/30/38 (With the exception of the infra-red lamp PAR38)

A halogen lamp is not actually replaced immediately. Philips has therefore made a list with LED alternatives to replace the exiled 230-240V reflector lamps.

12V halogen lamps are more energy efficient compared to main-voltage (MV) halogen lamps. In order to meet the requirement of Ecodesign the service life will be increased to 4,000 hours.
This applies to the following lamps: GU5.3, GU4 and G53.
